Hi All,

Please find below a brief summary of the progress Collabora have made last week on Weston/Wayland.

Weston / Wayland

Marius

- Worked on SPEC-3601 (Waltham integration with the new compositor). Both receiver (SPEC-3605) and transmitter (SPEC-3604) converted to using meson. Added module loading code in agl-compositor
to load the transmitter, which loads another plug-in (renderer) on its own (SPEC-3611). For SPEC-3605 (Covering waltham-receiver) added XDG-Shell support instead of ivi-application. Resolved a few build errors for the receiver. I'm able now to execute both the transmitter and receiver on different hosts. Started looking into transmitter code to see how to pass down from the compositor, surfaces/app_ids to will be set/assigned to the transmitter output, and from there to verify that the entire pipeline works. Future work would be to remove the custom output creation from the transmitter and see if the remoting plug-in (which create as a customizable gstreamer pipeline) is better suited at creating the (remoting) output.

Kind regards,

Nick
