Hi All,
Please find below a brief summary of the progress Collabora have made last week on Weston/Wayland.
Weston / Wayland
- SPEC-3580, SPEC-3592 - added screenshooter integration/recipes
for meta-agl/meta-agl-demo.
Still debating on how deal with multiple client shells in CI and
how to run the screenshooter
script. Once the compositor side is integrated I would start
adding a screenshooter script
in CI.
- SPEC-3601 (Waltham integration with the new compositor) - split
into multiple tasks: SPEC-3604 (transmitter conversion),
SPEC-3605 (reiceiver conversion) and SPEC-3606 (remote output
creation). So far, converted the transmitter side.
Found that the remote output creation is using quite a few
libweston private internals (the last update was around weston6)
and might/could be handled by one the remoting/pipewire remote
outputs. Input is also private so besides the mechanical
conversion, some architecture bits are neeed to avoid carrying
quite of bit of patches that might become a
challenge in the long run to maintain. A more careful inspection
is needed to see what needs to be replaced/modify.
Started converting CMake to meson for builds (SPEC-3607).
Kind regards,
Nick
