Hi All,
Please find below a brief summary of the progress Collabora have made last week on Weston/Wayland.
Weston / Wayland
Marius:
- update to libweston8 completed. SRCREV update added for
pop-up series + some minor fixes
+ updates to libweston8 also added.
- found and pushed a work-around for the split surface resize
issue that I'm seeing
with EGL qtwayland client. It uses an environment variable
(that when set) to force
a resize of the surface, after the EGL buffer swap has
happened. This will only be in
effect when using split type of views (and the surface size
changed). A more deep dive into
the qtwayland internals is required to determine what exactly
is causing this behaviour.
Given that this env var exists shows that some people are
aware of the situation.
- Added topic branch integration for agl-compositor for
meta-agl and meta-agl-demo in AGL-repo.
Added some last remaining apps (alexa-viewer, settings), and
provided updated versions for
the last remaining apps (taskmanager/poi/radio/mixer etc) to
work with agl-composito. This should
be a pre-merge step into adding/switching to agl-compositor
instead of weston.
- Minor updates the split surfaces role series: added some
addtional checks to
avoid multiple type of split surfaces and clean-ups
Things currently looking into:
- SPEC-3280 - Remote-display/placing sufrace IDs over to other
outputs
- further validation of topic branch for AGL-repo.
Things to do in queue:
- SPEC-3382 Investigation of cluster demo image w/ tweaked
area and role configuration for
the windowmanager
- input focus for background/regular applications, added
SPEC-3344 for tracking
Kind regards,
Nick
