Hi All,
Please find below a brief summary of the progress Collabora have made last week on Weston/Wayland.
Weston / Wayland
Marius:
- posted couple of updates for libweston8, the second one is
due to the fact that I've
overmissed some bits in the first series. Added minor
clean-ups while doing that.
- in the upgrade to dunfell, I've found a few build issues
(SPEC-3361 and SPEC-3355) and
a few issues with running in a virtualization environment
(SPEC-3357). Upgrade shows additional
problems detailed in SPEC-3363 (while restarting weston), and
in SPEC-3359 (regarding debugging
qtwayland applications)
- added SPEC-3362 for ``Define libhomescreen improvements
plan'' to discuss viable work-arounds
for hiding agl-shell-desktop interaction and/or provide
further abstrations to applications.
- before upgrading to dunfell, I've found some conflicting
behaviour with qtwayland client
with respect the the layout ordering/split applications
patches, but haven't got that far
investigating due to SPEC-3359 and the build/run applications
issues. Initial protocol
debugging shows that the qtwayland client (sometimes) will not
redraw the surface upon resizing
to the initial geometry size. As per previous qtwayland issue,
running it localized with a
different qtwayland version shows correct behaviour.
Things currently looking into:
- validate that the upgrade to dunfell (and implicitly
libweston8) for agl-compositor doesn't
have any issues/regressions
- figure out more about the qtwayland layout ordering/split
view issue, which due to SPEC-3359,
would involve digging into qtywayland directly
Things to do in queue:
- input focus for background/regular applications, added
SPEC-3344 for tracking
- remote display, forwarding applications to a different
output as per SPEC-3280
Kind regards,
Nick
