Hi All,
Please find below a brief summary of the progress Collabora have made last week on Pipewire and Weston/Wayland.
PipeWire
George:
- Completed the implementation of the mechanism to create
standard links between endpoints
- Started working on a improving WirePlumber's debug output
Julian:
- Addressed all coments of Wireplumber spa-pod merge request
- Added missing 'set' functions to allow setting spa-pod
values in the spa-pod merge request
- Finished refactoring wireplumber's public API to use the new
spa-pod class
Weston / Wayland
Marius:
- extended agl-shell-dekstop protocol to include two
additional requests: one that
de-activates the current activate surface and one that sets
additional roles for
surfaces. The latter is to enable windows behave like
independent windows (without
any presupposition that comes with the xdg_popup role type).
The former is to complete
the functionality in case one would want to just "hide" the
pop-up window type.
- onscreenapp/onstestapp adapation to using the new requests
shows that are
still some things left over: hanging out additional data as to
be passed between foreign
surfaces and handling/forwarding input (mouse/keyboard/touch)
events to the
(current) XDG toplevel surface stacked behind the pop-up
window
- minor updates to launcher app to further expand its
functionality (the ability to start apps
and the ability to switch to them by making using use of the
agl-desktop-shell) and some minor
tweaks to homescreen as to start application by just using
their name and not name@version
- found a couple of issues with the QML cache detailed at
SPEC-3324 and some potential DoS
for afm-system-daemon and initd/systemd described at SPEC-3323
Kind regards,
Nick
