Hi All,

Please find below a brief summary of the progress Collabora have made last week on Weston/Wayland.

Weston / Wayland

Marius

-  SPEC-3665, SPEC-3675 (waltham-receiver) changes have been added to address the situation where waltham-receiver wasn't able to process events from the transmitter after the initial top level surface creation.

-  Added SPEC-3676 (Future work for improving waltham receiver) that tracks with SPEC-3663,  SPEC-3665, SPEC-3680 potential future improvements to be done on the waltham transmitter/receiver.  Some of these include: the ability to send pointer and keyboard events besides touch events (which are by default from the original repositories), investigation of a retry machanism between transmitter/receiver in case one of the them dies unexpectedly.

- SPEC-3601, SPEC-3659,  tested  to verify if the protocol extension requires some changes to place view on remoting output. While we need some way to differentiate in the compositor between the remote types, the client doesn't need any other changes and can use the agl-shell-desktop as is. A small follow up from this, added a small patch to upstream to add the ability to choose between different types of remoting outputs (as all of them bear the same name and the client won't be able to choose between them), under the form of "connector-outputName".

- Started poking upstream about libweston-desktop/xdg-shell interpretation https: //gerrit.automotivelinux.org/gerrit/c/src/agl-compositor/+/25486

Kind regards,

Nick
