As a reference point, today there are 1241 subscriptions to last-call@xxxxxxxx. We can only guess how many people would subscribe to all WG adoption calls and all WG last calls, but I imagine it would be much less.

We need to be careful about evaluating the value of wider notifications of these things.   To my mind, it's not the number of subscribers that matters, so much as the number of external reviews that result from wider notifications.

I would regard a few dozen additional external reviews per year as a tremendous improvement, especially if a significant number of those external reviews identified bugs or deficiencies.

(And I do lean in favor of datatracker mods more than additional mailing lists.  Though I also like the idea of making the raw data available in some form so that individuals can invent their own tools.  We shouldn't rely on the tools team to design everything we need, that's much better done as a distributed process.  Then the tools team can hopefully incorporate the best of what individual participants come up with.)
