Ah I'm going to have a computer even if I don't have any camera. As to selling when I upgrade, it should be no problem, I don't mind taking a bit of a loss. As to dependence on computers, you can get prints made from CF cards easily enough. Have them burn a CD while you're there. See you don't need a computer!
