ColorSync doesn't take into account the characteristics of individual
monitors, and, in particular, the fact that monitors drift over
time. Mac or PC, you still need some sort of calibration device if
you want the best results. I don't know anyone doing serious digital
work who isn't using a calibration device. ColorSync makes color
management easy but it doesn't deal with device calibration.
