But, let me phrase my disagreement this way, is the console a key part of Linux? Or shall we dump the console entirely in favor of a terminal in the gui? If the answer is that the console needs to stay, then we need console based a11y. Speaking for myself, I still spend most of my time in the console. I don't care for Thunderbird. And, while I routinely use Firefox, I still use Lynx more. I could go on, but I think I've made my point. BTW: I also conduct most of my business phone calls from a Linux CLI SIP client because this gives me far better latency and far better audio quality than the best cell phone out there.
