I would, if I thought I had a reasonable question to ask.  At worst, I would learn something from doing so.

 

But I have known quite a few who would learn only that asking a question was a mistake.

Exactly.   And if further thinking didn’t help to resolve the dissonance, you might even ask questions! :)
