You can tell Word to export HTML, but it's pretty funky HTML. Better
to go direct.
In general I'm in favor of having multiple paths to produce
internet-drafts, so I certainly wouldn't object to MS Word -> XML2RFC as
an alternative to HTML->XML2RFC. But even the funky HTML produced by
MS Word, I expect, still contains all of the text present in the input,
a bit of formatting, and also enough information to distinguish a new
paragraph from a newline, and pre-formatted text from wrapped text. And
I would consider it necessary to strip out most of the HTML formatting
down to XML2RFC equivalent no matter what the source.
