All right! Everything is tip-top. As promised, I wrote a HOWTO on Ubuntu forums: http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1034910 If you see problems with it, please let me know- I am not sure if it is redundant to create the /etc/crypttab from the busybox shell and then unlock it with cryptsetup, but that's what I did so I included it there.
