Apologies Eliot, I should have been more clear. I was referring to the
card specific drivers (in this case: MiaMidi), I believe you were
referring to the general alsa drivers/firmware. So I'll restate... for
clarity:

1.) I would like to know if these are the most current drivers/firmware
for the *Echo Corp., MiaMidi card*: 'alsa-driver-1.0.8.tar.bz2' &
'alsa-firmware-1.0.8.tar.bz2'

2.) Are they compatible with Ubuntu 8.10? If not, or there are necessary
modification/dependencies, etc. what then?

3.) Further if the current instructions at
<http://www.alsa-project.org/main/index.php/Matrix:Module-mia> are in
fact current?

In case it helps to get to any answers coming forth, I'm using a Mobil
AMD Athlon XP-M 3000+ processor w/ 1.5 GB memory

Hope this is at least, more clear. Thanks.

Henry
