I'm at a loss too, however I go back to thinking how SM 1.4.1 has
worked fine for me for ~3 years now on all browsers, all
configurations. And earlier versions back as far as 1.0 worked fine
as well. The only variable is the newer versions of SM.

I suppose I'm just stuck with 1.4.1 till I can find another webmail
client..
