Wow! How industrious! Yes, this is what I was thinking of. They are a
little thick, but the implementation is very nice! Thanks for making it
easier to explain what I was looking or; I think you understood rather
well. :)

They would be more appropriate had I engaged my brain before the hand tools and used a larger filter ;) Step down rings would allow fitting of other filter sizes. The aluminium one is only 1.5mm thick so that is the one I'd use, the wood was just to illustrate it was still easily made for someone with minimal access to tools.

Actually as I wrote this I had another thought, fitting the larger, de-glassed filter in the reverse position (or a reversing ring) may be even better, as more commonly available step up rings could be used reversed to fit smaller filters - most people have step ups, few have step downs !

Nice pictures, too.

thanks, I snapped them haphazardly with my little Sony NEX on the floor of my shed. Try as I might to work on a bench, I always end up squatting on the floor ..

Have you tried them out?

nope, fabricating them was just easier than writing things that could cause confusion, they have however been added to my vast collection of photo knickknacks, I will probably lose them before I get around to needing them, but they're easily refabricated ;)
