Thanks Pablo,

I ordered such a filter a few days ago and can only hope it arrives befoe I
go (obviously, the 62 mm diameter is not what photo shops here stock, at
least not in the slim version).

Do you know whether it is advisable to also use a daylight filter when you
already use a polariser? Good combined polarizer/daylight filters with that
diameter are almost as expensive as the lens itself, and combining two
filters could lead to vignetting at the 24mm end of my zoom lens.

As for taking pictures of the people: I read somewhere that the indigenous
people do not like their image being taken? (BTW: I'm not sure how I'd react
if a Japanese tourist approached me for a picture here...).
