Not exactly the same problem, as all that would need to be done is for
Jupiter to hook into the new implementation in userspace. Because most
of Jupiter is already in userspace, it will have far less of a problem
than Speakup would have, as Speakup is still almost entirely in the
kernel, with the exception of the Speakupconf utility and the connectors
such as Espeakup and speechd-up.
