The dictd software is certainly convenient, and if it can be kept alive
by creating or sharing other databases it would be a real advantage. The
default dict.conf comes with two servers specified, localhost and
dict.org.  It says the initrc script will scan /etc/dict for local
dictionaries, but on my system that directory is empty. So perhaps it
makes sense for users to populate that directory with appropriate
dictionaries.  I put Chris's server in the dict.conf file as #2, and it
works fine. But other servers would be nice to have in a pinch.
