Dear Andrew,
The document which you quote is unfortunately misleading.
David and many Linux users discover which modem they have AFTER having
purchased the modem (often the whole computer). And if the modem comes
from Conexant, there IS NO ALTERNATE to Linuxant. And the Linuxant HSF
driver (full unlimited version) works at FAXing.
Faxing, efax, Hylafax are off topic on this forum, but because all the
mail is archived I had to post this remark to limit the consequences
of the quoted document.

Jacques,
While you are technically correct that the Linuxant driver 'supports'
fax, you are wrong if you believe that it works 'successfully' with fax.
Very few of the HylaFAX developers or users would recommend any soft
modem for use with fax.
The posting that I quoted was made by the major software developer of
HylaFAX, HylaFAX+, and IAXmodem, and is in line with my own observations
and experiences of working with Agere and Conexant as a developer.
Your stance implies that Linuxant 'works for FAXing'.... if you believe
this, then can I request that you get involved in HylaFAX and help
support the fall out from your assertion.
