It would be a bummer if it is entirely left to the AD/consensus caller or the chair/shepherd, but unfortunately "the buck stops here", as they say. Eventually, it should be everyone's responsibility to help their colleagues. But obviously my rose-colored glasses are especially rosy today, other evidence to the contrary notwithstanding.
