I wonder why an attendee who arrived late was left begging at the train station searching for a taxi. That is a problem that could be solved by the meeting host making it clear how to call a hotel shuttle, or other pre-arranged taxi service with an English speaking driver. I recently travelled by train to Lviv, Ukraine arriving at midnight, and there was a driver waiting with my surname on a card, outside the train station as I had requested when I booked the hotel. This made the transfer process (with a 3yo and suitcases heavier than I would have wished) very easy and worry free. So, when a venue is not a mainstream hotel with regular airport shuttle service, it might be good to publish a number that people can call at any time to arrange an English speaking taxi driver to pick them up from the train station. And understand that this service might be called upon at very unusual hours due to travel difficulties. Something that I once saw in Moscow was a booth in the airport welcoming visitors to a conference and helping them get to their final destination. That might be even better than a phone number if the host could arrange to staff such a booth. _______________________________________________ Ietf mailing list Ietf@xxxxxxxx https://www.ietf.org/mailman/listinfo/ietf
