It's true that there are roles that Red Hat funds full-time. Red Hat
generally hires from the community for those positions. And, I am
absolutely certain that those hiring decisions do not have anything to
do with the desktop environment that the person in question uses or
works on.

(It's true that I switched from Xfce to GNOME after I got this job, but
it was of my own free will, I swear.)
