Those individuals need to be picked by the community itself.
I'm willing to trust the recommendations of the board until I see them
making clearly poor choices.
From the dart I gathered they pick themselves these days yes but the
board itself is not fully elected neither is the project leader so those
that are recommending or picking people out aren't being representatives
of the community in whole.
I believe elections are likely to produce poorer candidates.
Why and even if it did then the community would ( hopefully ) learn from
that experience and be more careful in their voting next time.
In addition Using elections to make decisions is not very efficient.
I'd rather the project keep those to a minimum and have tasks
delegated to people who can do the jobs.
The elections are for deciding which are the individuals to delicate
this task to.
Nobody is talking about the community voting on specific ticket but
given that the boards plate is not transparent I dont have clear
oversight if it would be more efficient or not.
The board might be dealing with a single ticket or 100 I cannot tell.
All I know is my ticket which in essence involved copying Matthews
response on a topic on the devel list and wikify ( we are talking half
an hour tops for a well written, speaking English person ) still have not
been done after all this time ( think close to two years now ).
Waiting two years for a half an hour work is a lot of time .
