I sent some notes out ealier about problems with my ATI Radeon 7500.
I just wanted to say that everything works now.

It was apparantly the card itself that was just broken.  I returned it
for the exact same card and the second one work perfectly the first
time.

I am currently typing under X 4.2 at 1600x1200 and the picture is
clearer than I thought possible (apparantly the Matrox Mystiques,
while being good cards, are not good at 1600x1200 -- because it was
much fuzzier with them).

Thanks for everyone's help.  I now will soon embark on trying dual
monitor support out of this Radeon 7500 card.  That should be fun :) .

Any suggestions one what one should run in the second monitor?  I
mainly just listen/sort music, code, and do some web browsing on my
computer -- you know, normal sort of hacker stuff :) .
