Girina <girina@xxxxxxxxx> ****************************************** Explosive-effusive eruption of Klyuchevskoy volcano, Kamchatka, continues. Weak explosive eruption of the volcano began on February 15. Strombolian activity with bursts of lava bombs up to 50-100 m above the crater was observed on February-March 2007. According to the satellite data, a thermal anomaly in the area of the terminal crater in size 1-11 pixels noted each day of these months. According to the visual and video data, a lava flow was noted in Krestovsky channel of the north-western flank of the volcano at 19:04 UTC on March 28, 2007. According to the visual data by Yu Demyanchuk (Director of the Levinson- Lessing Kamchatkan Volcanological Station at Klyuchi, the Institute of Volcanology and Seismology FEB RAS), Strombolian activity of the volcano continues on March 31 (Fig.1). A height of lava bombs bursts was about 100-200 m above the crater. -------------------------------------------- Dr. Olga A. Girina and Yrii V. Demyanchuk.
