been pretty busy around here, I tested again and can repro
in the above browsers but that javascript console doesn't report
any errors. so perhaps the errors were generated by a plugin,
but had no impact on the end result, the frame still goes away
when I click on a folder(any folder) immediately after login.

I'll try to find some other web debugging plugins for firefox
to see if that gives more insight.
