Some people install every single file they need on the system via rpm Others laugh at them for wasting their time Usually when the system is scratched, duplicated, moved, upgraded or managed by a new person the laugh changes sides. It's ok to sidestep rpm. Everyone does it once in a while. With some experience you learn to balance the time you're saving now with the time you'll lose later because rpm won't be there to help you. -- Nicolas Mailhot
