how to satisfy "perl(XXX::YYY)" dependencies?

  recently, i tried to install the perl-based "kwiki" package on my
FC3 system. beforehand, i noticed that it had the "perl(IPC::Run)"
dependency. i just assumed that this meant that i needed that perl
module on my system, so i perl-CPANed it down, and tried the install.

  the install failed, claiming that that dependency was missing.
someone suggested that i needed to explicitly needed to install the
IPC::Run *RPM*. i did, and it satisfied the dependency, but i'm a bit
baffled.

  what does it mean to have a listed dependency of "perl(XXX:YYY)"?
do i really have to satisfy that dependency with an explicit RPM
install?
