I have a number of 10/100baseT ethernet NICs that I purchased to
upgrade the old NICs in my network so that all machines would be
100baseT capable. Needing to buy an armload of these, and being a
cheapskate, I got them at Wal*Mart, where they were $2.00 cheaper than
anywhere else I could find them. Once installed, they get configured
by kudzu to use the tulip driver. The boards seem to work OK, but I
discovered one strange quirk: ethtool does not work with them. How
come?
