Jan what do you want from this rip? There are also some open source tools but they aren't as user friendly but not crazy either that do a good job. Like Guttenprint and quadtone. Probably not as good as the pay ones but better in some ways then epson.

I don't know colorbyte thanks Lea. Epson RIP is Colorburst which was good years ago but I have only used that for a pre press RIP way back when I was doing that sort of thing. So I can't say if its good but here is their link. http://www.colorburstrip.com/On Mon, Jun 17, 2013 at 3:56 PM, Lea Murphy <lea@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> wrote:After taking a master black and white printing class with George DeWolfe I purchased ColorByte for my Epson 3800; I'd been getting inconsistent results using the Epson drivers. ImagePrint fixed that in a hurry. It's expensive but ColorByte has great customer service and a product that works. I have used a wide selection of papers for my black and white work and they all print beautifully without color shift. I don't do much of my own color printing but when I do ImagePrint makes it a breeze. You will need an open USB port for the required dongle.I'm glad I purchased it…printing is absolutely stress free.LeaOn Jun 17, 2013, at 2:45 PM, Jan Faul wrote:NO,. this is not about a death.
