My little experience of programming suggests that it isn't always that
easy to have a rigid schedule to meet. I'm not excusing MS - nor
thinking they're altruistic about things like Windows Defender.
However good a system claims to be there will always be someone up for
the challenge of cracking it wide open. I suspect that if MACs had ruled
the IT world they'd be the ones being attacked with viruses and other
nasty malware. And the niche product of MS would be the one everyone
would go for!

And really this isn't anything to do with photography, because whether
you use a Mac or a PC is irrelevant to being a productive or successful
photographer! Either way you still need to protect your computer.

Well, that certainly was part of my point.
Although it's difficult to herd cats, or computer programmers, I'd
hazard a guess that programmers have a lot more experience being
herded than cats.
And production managers should have enough knowledge about planning,
timelines, employee personalities, strengths and liabilities, flow
charting and final design goals to manage the personalities and
project segments so as to meet the deadlines.
Just seems to me that worldwide business should have sued Microsoft by
now, it's so expensive maintaining their shoddy product.
