ones being attacked with viruses and other nasty malware. And the
niche product of MS would be the one everyone would go for!
Well, that´s a persistent, but false, myth. Mac OsX is essentially
an Unix dialect, with a graphic interface added. Unix is the stuff
that runs on most real big Internet servers, those that route the
traffic on the web.
Thus, cracking Unix would be the ultimate triumph for the hackers of
the world, so rest assured they have tried, and keep on trying. IF
they succeed, they would of course be able to attack all modern Mac´s
the same way.
Only, they haven´t managed to do it yet. A year or so ago, I read an
interview with a CIA executive who said that while they could easily
access any Windows machine, Macs were extremely difficult unless the
owners had been lax in their choice of passwords.

Certainly, even a bank vault is unsafe if you let the crooks in
yourself. Personally, I have disabled the widget function on my Mac
´s, mostly because they ate too much cpu capacity without really
doing anything useful. And the Safari auto-open-and-install has been
turned off ever since I got the first version....
