Yes, that's what I wonder. Of course I imagine people spending much
time going through and studying each and every image on my site but
the reality is not everyone does that. Although many people have
commented that they did, and enjoyed it.

The time has come to try and create some - dare I say it - income from
all of this and the presentation and impact do count as has been
mentioned. At the very least perhaps there's some cash in a webpage
award...

It would be a strange but not necessarily embarassing thing to become
well known, successful, and perhaps rich from something that started
as just a better presentation of what already existed but was ignored
with nary a sale.
