Hi Emily, I have a Toyota truck for just that reason. And I do often borrow a friends old jeep when going out in the fire trails. The northern CA area has had a boat load of rain so far this year. I have spent several days in the Santa Cruz mtns over the last 2 months and have had to winch free twice. The wildflowers are in full bloom though and it really is worth the effort. Also Carol Leigh isa great source of info in that area. here is her url http://calphoto.com/wflower.htm have fun Les > Hmm. I was thinking I'd have to rent an SUV. Do you think I need > one to get to Briceland and Sinkyone Wilderness SP and Shelter Cove? > What if I want to get lost in the forest between Humboldt Redwoods SP > and Honeydew or around Northport, or Cape Mendocino? Don't I need a > clutch to drive on those roads in there? > -- > Emily L.
