Just getting root access is not trivial. If you're going to sell a device that requires significant Linux knowledge to use, that should be clearly stated in any sales information. You want to "have your cake and eat it too". You want everybody and their dog to buy the tablets because you want their money, but god forbid they should ever try to actually do anything with them or expect any support...
