After the drivers are loaded, there should be a report that
/dev/ttyAGS3 has been created.
Check with ls -l /dev/ttyA*
Then set up a symbolic link:
# ln -sf  /dev/ttyAGS3 /dev/modem
Check with:
# ls -l /dev/ttyAGS3 /dev/modem

Then you can test use with /dev/modem

The step
# ln -sf  /dev/ttyAGS3 /dev/modem
must be redone upon every bootup for now.
