Ibrahim,
OK so far.
To decrease unnecessary warnings do a rename:
$ sudo mv /etc/modprobe.d/sound /etc/modprobe.d/sound.conf
Then open a 2nd console (or new TAB on the original one and)
$ sudo tail -f /var/log/messages
which will report diagnosit1cs, when in the first console you do:
$ sudo agrsm-test
Report cogent messages back to the List

Please send emails to the List, not directly to me, as others are more

But from your record, the critical failure was at:
FATAL: Error inserting agrmodem
(/lib/modules/2.6.31-17-generic/updates/dkms/agrmodem.ko): Unknown
symbol in module, or unknown parameter (see dmesg)
Though I lack the modem hardware, this modules loading was successful
on my System, also under a 2.6.31-17-generic bootup:
----------
Loading drivers:

agrserial 12032 0

so the failure on your System is perplexing, UNLESS perhaps you used
the wrong code package.
The complete package name is agrsm-11c11040_20091225_i386.deb

What should I do now ?
Try opening a terminal and type
$ which wvdial
If it returns nothing, then wvdial is not installed correctly? But
if
you can open Gnome-ppp and it reports that there is no modem port,
something is not loading correctly.
Try that and report back.

Before using gnome-ppp try using wvdial. When successful loading
of
agrsm drivers with
$ sudo modprobe agrmodem
$ sudo modprobe agrserial
$ sudo wvdialconf /etc/wvdial.conf
and check to see if it finds modem port? The link /dev/modem -->
/dev/ttyAGR3 should have been created via the agrsm-tools package
that
you have installed.
Let us know if wvdialconf finds the modem.
