I guess one could be a "create /dev/slamr0" call into ungrab-winmodem. Then the action sequence would be: modprobe slamr > loads ungrab-winmodem > creates /dev/slamr0 > loads slamr But I lack the skills/experience to do this. I have only learned BASH scripting in the course of maintaining scanModem. Of course the much simpler way is to move some of the "make install" code from the slmodem package into your sl-modem-daemon code. Would there be any Ubuntu Policy issue against doing so?
