Marvin, You have mentioned that $ sudo slmodemd -c INDIA --alsa hw:0,6 and in a 2nd console (or TAB on the same console) $ sudo wvdial >>>>> but i used both the commands in same console ... in the same tab; one below the other ... just like i have mentioned in my earlier mail... still it is working !!! inspite sudo slmodemd -c INDIA --alsa hw:0,6 is failing ....
