12 kb = 12 kbits or 12 kbytes ?
Even 12 kBytes/s is unacceptably low for a DSL connection.
Furthermore, please note that one of my earliest questions, not answered
until the previous mail received minutes ago was, what is the
performance under Windows.
Best regards
Good luck, now.

I used gtkterm after each connection and I connected lots of times
and AT#UG showed it connected using V.34 and V.44 compression. The
problem doesn't seem limited to the linuxant drivers; as I said same
thing happened in windows without a 2.6.21 kernel or gentoo. Oh well.
Maybe it's just a driver mistake, I mean the 12 kb/s speed result on
dslreports and the 8,9-10 kb/s on iso download would suggest that. I
didn't think you could go that high with a dialup modem. So I guess
despite the connection speed reported it works rather well.
