12 kb = 12 kbits or 12 kbytes ?
Even 12 kBytes/s is unacceptably low for a DSL connection.

Furthermore, please note that one of my earliest questions, not answered until the previous mail received minutes ago was, what is the performance under Windows.

Maybe it's just a driver mistake, I mean the 12 kb/s speed result on
dslreports and the 8,9-10 kb/s on iso download would suggest that. I
didn't think you could go that high with a dialup modem. So I guess
despite the connection speed reported it works rather well.
