I use the same config for guest/kernel, and same kernel source code. Emulated mmc card IO is going to be _really_ slow on the fast model. -Christoffer On Wed, Sep 12, 2012 at 2:45 AM, Jessica Allison <jessica.allison.2012@xxxxxxxxxxx> wrote: > > > > ---------------------------------------- >> Date: Tue, 11 Sep 2012 14:20:40 -0400 >> Subject: Re: Illegal instruction on wget() >> From: c.dall@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx >> To: peter.maydell@xxxxxxxxxx >> CC: jessica.allison.2012@xxxxxxxxxxx; kvmarm@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx >> >> Hi Jessica, >> >> try using this attached .config >> >> $ cd linux >> $ cp /path/to/config-vexpress-kvm .config >> $ make oldconfig ARCH=arm CROSS_COMPILE=arm-linux-gnueabi- >> $ make zImage ARCH=arm CROSS_COMPILE=arm-linux-gnueabi- >> > > That configuration works better on the host and it is now significantly faster in booting the kernel, too. So far I haven't had any Illegal instruction errors, and QEMU also started up first time round calling it. > However, my guest now runs really slow (even slower than before) - any chance you can also send me the related guest .config? Just to be sure I have the right kernel configuration for that, too. > > Jess > _______________________________________________ kvmarm mailing list kvmarm@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx https://lists.cs.columbia.edu/cucslists/listinfo/kvmarm
