But you gotta be really careful :-). My Samsung TV I use as a display reports itself as 7 inches (it is really 46). If it actually believes the EDID info, you get fonts so gigantic nothing actually fits on the screen :-).
Obviously competent provision for working around bad EDID is necessary. The bug is explicitly about working with valid EDID.
