Yes it gets popped up, and no currently the user does not get a choice, if
there is no direct rendering the game will not launch.
This can be changed or even made configurable on a per game basis, but I see
little use in this. If there is no DRI _at_all_, then OpenGL apps will suck,
they will suck to the point of being unusable. Notice that if there is any DRI,
even if its s3 savage pseudo accelerated 3d, the game will launch just fine.
