Congratulations on a not-very-charged statement of how to use this
thread constructively.  When the experienced system administrators in
this thread bring in their real-world cases of "How should we deal
with common situation <X>?", that should be answered with "You can do
that in the following ways: <Y>.  And if that doesn't work, let's
discuss *how* it doesn't work," all of which can be done without
attacking people's skills, intelligence, foresight, or motives on
either side.
