One suggestion I might make is that, regardless of the naming you use, I think we should stick to building these config programs for ONE distribution instead of all the distributions out there (Suse, Mandrake, etc.). If we can focus on Fedora and its inner workings, then we can stay ahead of the game in terms of where files are moved to ect. Since Fedora is planning on being released at least twice or more a year, us developers need to be able to write code that we can get out each release. (Quality vs. Quantity) The Webmin project is a great tool if you want to run multidistros and share a common configuration scheme. -Matt > >> Now *there's* a nice and simple solution to all of this: >> redhat-logviewer system-logviewer >> redhat-config-packages system-config-packages >> redhat-config-mouse system-config-mouse >> redhat-config-securitylevel system-config-securitylevel >> ...etc. >> >> The meaning of those doesn't get much clearer than that, it puts an end >> to the trademark "issue" and the even the common namespace for config >> tools is there. > > I'll give a +1 to this as well. > > it's obvious and it's unique and it means you can use them on any > 'system' that they run on :) > > -sv > > > > -- > Fedora-config-list mailing list > Fedora-config-list@xxxxxxxxxx > http://www.redhat.com/mailman/listinfo/fedora-config-list > -- Matt Jarjoura
