I'm sorry, I didn't want to step on anybody's toes, but from the
bird's view it does seem quite that trivial, yes.

Wasn't that was "secondary arch" politely means? Allow the build to go
to valhalla and have a SIG worry itself sick instead of all non-ppc
users out here? Wasn't that the state of the build system before ppc64
entered as a primary arch?

Implementation looks trivial, politics probably not. So take the above
with your grain of salt.
