Do you have SquirrelMail set to use /var/www/webmail/data as the data AND attachment directory? You may have a lot of stale attachment data in there that can safely be cleaned out. Set a different, unique path for the attachment directory, and then use a cleaning program (tmpreaper, for instance) to periodically empty out the older files. NOTE: I am specifically saying to use tmpreaper on the ATTACHMENT directory once it is SEPARATE from the data directory. You don't want to reap pref files and address books. > What I can make out is that the DATA directory is still storing the old > users (users which have been deleted) preference and adress book files. > How can I free up this space. If you know of users which no longer exist, simply go and erase the files belonging to them. Ie. user 'tassium' no longer exists? rm tassium.* in the data directory. - -- Chris Hilts tassium@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx SquirrelMail Developer Gun Control: Belief that violent predators willing to ignore laws against robbery, kidnapping, rape, and murder will obey a law telling them that they cannot do so with a gun. -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.4.6 (MingW32) iD8DBQFHOnom98ixrK2vMtARAp1pAJ4lhODgDCYtqy/r7sOz5zHELtg61wCZAfKB uPAv1V8SAtZG1a73/xT7RHQ= =bP1p -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- ------------------------------------------------------------------------- This SF.net email is sponsored by: Splunk Inc.
