IIRC some US boxed sets were earlier spins of Red Hat Linux 9, with an earlier kernel than the one which got included in the downloadable ISO images, which would explain. So two solutions : - Get your hands on the CDs you used for the installation. - Upgrade to the latest errata kernel (recommended anyway).
