it's the extra cruft I have an aversion to. I like to have only what I need installed, nothing more.
So what you're saying is that the 1mb of disk space is more valuable to you than the time and effort required for a "rebuild, and a -devel hunt, and a package cleanup, and an even LONGER install process."
